Being Easily Fully understood Writing Fiction

Martin Scorsese, Hollywood's amazing director, in receiving the Golden Country Award said that he made his films in a way that they would be "easily known." This extemporaneous remark caught my interest because in my private writing, that is what I strive for-to be easily known.

What I think Scorsese intended is that given the a large number of techniques now available to successfully directors, the look or story may be lost. I agree. A handful of films I've seen can be extremely convoluted that one uses a map to decode the tale. And if the story-line could possibly be lost in films -being a medium with images- one can just imagine the simplest way easy it is intended for writers to lose a thread in text message narratives. .
